At level six, Tempest Clerics learn "Thunderous Strike," letting them push large or smaller foes back up to 3m after hitting them with thunder or lightning damage. Level seven Tempest Clerics learn "Ice Storm" and "Freedom of Movement." This allows them to conjure a powerful hailstorm and prevent a target's movement from being affected by difficult terrain, spells, or water.

The Battle Master Fighter is still the best Fighter build in BG3 – but that could change with the release of Patch 8. Until then, stick with this Battle Master Fighter guide to learn the best Fighter build tips, what makes the Battle Master such a powerful subclass for the Fighter, and other information that will help you min-max your Fighter character. This Fighter build guide has been updated to add in-game flavor descriptions of the class and subclass, as well as a new small section with the best consumables for the Fighter, including both potions and elixirs, in the Equipment section.

The Sorcerer and Warlock multiclass build is one of the most popular in BG3 because of high damage potential, both class' reliance on Charisma, and the added bonuses that the Warlock class can provide to a Sorcerer, like armor proficiency.

The best Fighter companions in BG3 are Shadowheart as your primary ranged Support, Gale as a ranged damage-dealer and CC source, and Astarion as your main ally in melee combat (who can also set up strong Stealth maneuvers).

Rally benefits parties more at low levels as the total amount of HP that the Fighter gives to an ally doesn't improve. Maneuvering Attack, too, can be useful for parties without a way to reliably get squishy allies out of range of opportunity attacks, but it's a bit more situational.

In terms of equipment, the Shadow Magic Sorcerer benefits from mixing multiple elemental damage types in the same build. Items like the Gloves of Belligerant Skies can be useful, inflicting reverberation and allowing you to knock enemies off their feet, and using the Necklace of Elemental Infusion and Potent Robe will help your elemental spells and cantrips to dish out considerably more damage. Other useful gloves to consider are the Daredevil Gloves, Gemini Gloves, or Quickspell Gloves, and you can use the Cloak of the Weave later on in the game to enhance spell save

The Shapeshifter Hat, Armor of Moonbasking, and Mutiliated Carapace can be found during Act 3, all of which are designed to benefit a character while in Wildshape (or, in the case of the Mutilated Carapace, when disguised in any way.) The Armor of Moonbasking grants 22 temporary HP while in Wildshape, reduces damage taken by 1 while those temporary HP remain, grants a +2 bonus to AC, and grants advantage to saving throws against spells. All of these effects remain while in Wildshape. The Shapeshifter Hat increases the number of Wildshape charges by 1, while the Mutilated Carapace grants +1 to attack and damage rolls while shapeshifting or disguised.

At level 11, Wild Magic Sorcerers get the feature "Controlled Chaos," giving foes near the sorcerer a chance to trigger a Wild Magic Surge when casting spells. This extends the chaos they cause and can potentially cause serious harm to enemy spellcasters, though it also has a decent chance of helping them out

The next piece of the puzzle is inside the Gauntlet of Shar, in the form of the Callous Glow Ring. This Ring can be found in the Vault Room, where Balthazar is found, and will cause attacks against illuminated targets to deal two extra radiant damage. This is a small but effective boost that will allow attacks that don't usually deal Radiant Damage to trigger the Luminous Armor and Gloves.

All Draconic Bloodline Sorcerers will gain the Draconic Resilience feature at level 1, giving them one additional hit point every time they level up and increasing their armor class by 3 when they are not wearing armor. This helps them to avoid damage more effectively than other Sorcerer subclas

Beyond that, Shadow Magic plays nicely with Bards and Paladins, much like the other Sorcerer subclasses, due to them providing access to better armor and a wider range of weapon and armor proficiencies, which can open up new options in combat.
