With the Druid's intrinsic Wild Shape ability, a Druid 9 Ranger 3 build will be able to summon a Bear companion, then shapeshift into a Bear themselves. It's always good to have more companions on the battlefield, so enemies have more targets to choose from. Having two bears in the party, alongside proper Support companions, makes for a fun and fearsome melee frontline.
However, if you are more prone to engaging in dialogues in BG3 , the Guild Artisan background might be a better fit . This background grants proficiency in Insight and Persuasion, and tends to trigger inspiration when making items, repairing areas in the world, or identifying and engaging with artifacts.
In baldur's Gate 3 guide Gate 3 the max level you can reach is Level 12, but not every class gets something every time it levels up. But as a Spellcaster class, this BG3 Cleric build will have something to choose at every level.
To help with their spellcasting, players should also grab the Protecty Sparkswall clothes during Act 1 at Grymforge, which provides +1 to Spell Save DC and boosts their defence while they have lightning charges. For similar reasons, players should consider grabbing the Birthright Helmet and Quickspell Gloves during Act 3, which grant +2 to Charisma and the ability to cast spells as a bonus action (once per short rest) respectively.
In Baldur's Gate 3 , Cleric builds can be enhanced further with the use of specific consumables. Certain potions, like the Potion of Speed, will let Clerics do more within a single turn and support their allies better, while others, like the Potion of Angelic Reprieve, will let Clerics restore Spell Slots to keep casting.
In Baldur's Gate 3 , Druid builds can be enhanced further with the use of specific consumables. Certain potions, like the Elixir of Heroism, will grant combat-oriented bonuses for this best Druid build, while others, like the Elixir of Barkskin, will enhance the Druid's defenses, which tend to be low thanks to low-AC equipment that the class can use.
The path of Giants allows a Barbarian to channel the primal might of giants, growing in size and amplifying their strength. Initially, at third level, the Barbarian's rage becomes "Giant's Rage." This increases their size by one category when entering rage and doubles their rage bonus on throwing attacks (though a bug currently locks this bonus at +4, even at level 9 when it should be +6). They also gain the Thaumaturgy Cantrip, and the ability "Vaprak's Greed." Vaprak's Greed will increase the Barbarian's carrying capacity by a quarter.
Updated on April 24th, 2025, by Thomas Hawkins: With the release of Baldur's Gate 3 Path 8, every class has gained access to a new subclass. In the Ranger's case, they can now select Swarmkeeper, commanding swarms of fey spirits in the shape of various creatures to aid them in battle. From legions of Bees, to Clouds of Jellyfish, to Flurries of Moths, the Swarmkeeper excels at using their swarm of choice to damage and weaken their foes. This guide has been updated to explain the Swarmkeeper subclass and provide advice on equipment and multiclassing combos that perform especially well with their abilities.
Additionally, learn one Cantrip from a select list of level 1 Cantrips.
To create the best BG3 Warlock build, we recommend putting the majority of points into your Charisma, followed by Constitution and Dexterity.
After landing an attack, the Swarmkeeper may choose to activate one of the abilities listed in the table above, based on their Swarm, or teleport up to 5m/17ft away. None of these effects spend an action, bonus action, or reaction. Third level Swarmkeepers also gain the Mage Hand and Faerie Fire spells, which are always prepared.
However, depending on how you like to play your Druid, the Outlander background might feel more fitting. This background grants proficiency in Athletics and Survival instead of Animal Handling and Survival, and Athletics can be very useful in combat.
Updated on the 25th of April, 2024, by Thomas Hawkins: With the release of Baldur's Gate 3's long-awaited Patch 8, every class has gained a new subclass. In the case of the Barbarian class, they may now choose the Path of Giants subclass, allowing them to channel the elemental strength of giants to grow in size and throw their enemies around in various ways. They may also empower their weapons with elemental damage and the thrown property, allowing them to easily hurl greatswords and other two-handed weapons. This guide has been updated to discuss the new subclass, multiclassing options that pair well with it, and equipment that works particularly well with this subclass.
Level 6 gives you access to "Accursed Spectre" , which allows you to raise an allied spectre from a slain enemy who was under the effects of Hexblade's Curse. Depending on the size of the enemy, you'll get a Feeble Spectre, Mundane Spectre, or Primordial Spectre. Larger Spectres have a few extra skills, and all Spectres act as useful allies in combat who can teleport to cursed targets.
