Although some of the stories and characters will be completely created by the studio, the writing that already exists is the best source of unofficial material fans should go to if they wish to come up with their own theories and predictions. It is likely players will receive a sneak peek and further details into gameplay features and story direction before the official release of the game, but until that happens, the possibilities will seem endless to any theory-crafting fan well-versed in the Wizarding World lore. _Hogwarts Legacy _ doesn't have an official release date yet, but it is likely that it won't be available until the second half of 2
In 1850, there were two notable births: Elladora Black and Oswald Beamish. Elladora was the younger sister of Phineas Nigellus Black ( Sirius Black's great-great grandfather and the " least popular Headmaster Hogwarts ever had ," according to Sirius in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ) and was known for beheading house elves when they got too old. She and her brother could make an appearance as young Hogwarts students around a decade later, or players may even get to see Phineas as Headmaster sometime after that. Oswald Beamish was a Goblin's rights activist and could play a role in the Goblin Liberation Front of the 18
The later the events in Hogwarts Legacy take place, the more likely it is that the characters who appear in the game will feel familiar to players and fans. One of the most complete lore backstories players have from J.K. Rowling's writings is the story of Angus Buchanan. Angus was the first and only squib to get to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after his older brother Hamish flew him in on his broomstick in a desperate attempt to trick the school into letting him s
The Chamber of Secrets may be an extremely secretive place that no one had supposedly uncovered for so long, but it's also one of the most famous locations in the castle for fans and it's hard to see how it could be left out of the g
Many important events happened in 1899, though it seems unlikely they'll be shown in the game, considering the Fantastic Beasts movies are in the process of covering them and due to their placement at the very end of the century. Ariana Dumbledore accidentally killed her mother and was taken under the care of her brother, Albus, who then graduated Hogwarts legacy Missions with flying colors. Soon after, Albus befriended Grindelwald, forming a brief, romantic relationship with him. This ended after a three-way duel between them and Albus's brother, Aberforth, when they accidentally killed Ariana Dumbledore. Finally, Eloise Mintumble severely disrupted time by getting stuck in the year 1
Even featuring the changing ceiling, the Great Hall looks like it has been recreated effectively in the game. The Staircases that lead on from the Great Hall will be the main way that players are able to travel, although they should beware that they sometimes m
Care of Magical Creatures is actually quite a vital skill to pick up. The Wizarding World is completely packed full of dangerous and adorable animals, which may just save the day when a student needs them most . Magical Creatures come in all shapes and si
There were a few glimpses of a room that looked to be the Room of Requirement in the trailer, but even if not initially confirmed, it's difficult to imagine Hogwarts Legacy won't allow fans to visit one of the most famous hidden mysteries of the sch
We’ve seen transphobic institutions make progress in the wake of Rowling’s support, and this being brought into the timelines of even well-meaning individuals only serve to spread them further and wider. I understand the noble intention, and figures like this should be demonised and called out where appropriate, but I fear we’re forgetting about the echochamber we exist within and how substantial Rowling and Harry Potter are in the cultural zeitgeist. Fantastic Beasts is still getting a third film, The Cursed Child is still killing it on the West End, and I bet the films will be all over television during the Christmas period. Harry Potter isn’t going anywhere, it’s eternally relevant and will be read to generations of children to come. For the absolute worst, it’s here to stay, and Rowling’s pockets will be continually lined with profit regardless of how loud we manage to get.
The Hogwarts Legacy reveal trailer opens with the playable character's overdue arrival at Hogwarts and states the setting takes place in the late 1800s. Generally speaking, this could be 1850 onward, although it's more likely to take place after the late 1860s. That said, here's a look at some important events that took place from the mid 1800s through the turn of the cent
Aside from the peculiar Buchanan family, there's a more prominent character fans could meet as a Hogwarts student: Kendra Dumbledore. Kendra was Albus and Aberforth's mother, and is believed to have lived from 1851 to 1899. Although what is known about Kendra is limited to the events that led to her death in the late 1800s, it is possible Hogwarts Legacy producers will use the opportunity to develop her character as a Hogwarts student, and the struggles of being a Muggle-born witch during a time in which the prominence of pure-blood families was far more significant than in more modern ti
